The Isle O’ Hags area is actually an overworld linking all the different worlds in Banjo-Tooie, of which Spiral Mountain merely serves as the introductory area (and a tie back to Banjo-Kazzoie). This big hub is at the center of the eight main worlds. You’ll occasionally have to fight Klungo here, but other than that, you’re relatively out of harm’s way when exploring the isle.

You can stop at Bottles’ mole hills to learn about movements and camera controls. Explore the area to get down the basics and learn about how to fire eggs, attacks, and the Wonder-Wing invulnerability. You can also stock up on ammo and feathers here.

The Isle O’ Hags’ explorable areas house the entrances to all the worlds, as well as a connection to the Spiral Mountain tutorial area:

Spiral Mountain
Mayahem Temple
Glitter Gulch Mine
Witchyworld
Jolly Roger’s Lagoon
Terrydactyland
Grunty Industries
Hailfire Peaks
Cloud Cuckooland
Cauldron Keep

There are seven Silos that let you fast-travel between the regions within the Isle O’ Hags, as well as in-level shortcuts and a network of train stations. Any of the following locations can be accessed by Silo fast-travel and all but Jinjo Village feature world entrances. The final world, Cauldron Keep is only reachable via the Quagmire Silo.

Jinjo Village
The Jinjo Village was once home to a population of dozens of the bird-like creatures known as Jinjos. Each color variety of Jinjo has a house here in the village — and as you find and rescue them, they will appear in these houses. Unfortunately, there are no more Grey Jinjos left in the world and their house is completely destroyed. But as you rescue all Jinjos of a certain color, raning from one for the white Jinjos and 9 for the black ones, you won’t just restore life to the village, you’ll also get Jiggies for your trouble.

In addition to filling the empty houses, you can also find some music notes to connect here, including these often-missed bunch on top of the red Jinjo house. To get to it, backwards flip onto the door frame and then jump up again to Grip Grap (once you have the move unlocked) the ledge and pull yourself up.

Enter any Jinjo home and you’ll be summoned by the King. Head up the slope to reach his golden palace. Take in the sight because the palace won’t look as glorious in the near future.

Before you go inside, be sure to walk up to the silver silo to unlock a fast-travel shortcut.

Jinjo Village Silo

King Jingaling’s Throne Room

King Jingaling will tell you about his plight — the disappearing Jinjos — and give you a Jiggy as an incentive for your quest.

Jinjo Village Jiggy 1 – King Jingaling

Jingaling will ask you to find Jiggywiggy. After a brief cutscene that checks in with your arch nemesis and her friends, you resume your quest.

Bottles’ House
Enter Bottles House to meet his family. Talk to his wife and then find Goggles, Bottles’ son in the adjacent room to the left (complete with a Jet Force Gemini poster).

He will give you a new power-up:

Amaze-O-Gaze Glasses

The Amaze-O-Gaze Glasses add the ability to zoom in and out while in first-person mode.

In the next room, Speccy, Bottles’ other son tells you about the secret tunnel out of the village. Exit through the tunnel to access Wooded Hollow.

Wooded Hollow
The next area is home to Jiggywiggy’s Temple, a number of enemies, and more.

First, activate the Silo here to add your second fast-travel point:

Wooded Hollow Silo

You can now travel back and forth between two areas.

Head to the large temple in the area and talk to the doorman. Since you own a Jiggy, you can enter.

Jiggywiggy’s Temple
Talk to Jiggywiggy and you’ll be asked to complete a challenge by interacting with the golden painting on the wall to the right. To do so, stand in front of it and hit B.

The challenge is a simple jigsaw puzzle. Grab the puzzle pieces and place them in the right slots within the allotted time. Complete the moving image of the treasure chamber and watch the cutscene that shows that you have opened up a new entrance outside.

Return to Jiggywiggy’s Temple whenever you have collected the required number of Jiggies to open the next world. There are a total of 90 Jiggies in the game, if you want to 100% it. However, only 70 are needed to open up the game’s last challenge.

Cliff Top Train Station
While most fast-travel is accomplished via the Isle O’ Hags seven silos, Cliff Top is home to the one and only train station located outside of a world. That means, once you’ve pressed the train button on the ledge in the Cliff Top area and completed the train-related Jiggy quest in Glitter Gulch Mine, you can call Chuffy and travel to other train stations from this location.

As you have no doubt guessed from the Mumbo Pad and nearby Skull, there is also a quest you can complete here. See the Terryland Jiggies section for more details on how to do this one.

All Isle O’ Hags Collectibles
Below, you’ll find other things to discover and learn once you’ve progressed further in your quest. If you’re just starting the game, then you don’t yet have the necessary moves to complete most of these objectives, so we suggest moving on with the main quest first.

Isle O’ Hags Cheato Page
If you didn’t collect it yet, there is a hidden Cheato Page in the Spiral Mountain area of the Isle O’ Hags. You can find it on a ledge opposite the Digger Tunnel. Use the Shockspring Pad to leap into the cave and collect the prize.

Spiral Mountain Cheato Page

All Isle O’ Hags Jinjos

  1. Jinjo Under the Waterfall
In Spiral Mountain, Talon Torpedo the boulder under the waterfall to uncover a Jinjo. You can get this item after learning the Talon Torpedo in Jolly Roger’s Lagoon.

Isle O’ Hags Jinjo 1 – Spiral Mountain

  1. Jinjo in the Wooded Hollow Tunnel

Follow the Digger’s tracks into the tunnel past Master Jiggywiggy’s Temple in Wooded Hollow. At the end of the tunnel awaits a Jinjo.

Isle O’ Hags Jinjo 2 – Wooded Hollow

  1. Jinjo Under the Isle O’ Hags Plateau Boulder

As you come up the wooden ramps into Plateau, Bill Drill the boulder in front of the entrance to Glitter Gulch Mine to uncover another Jinjo. The Bill Drill move is learned in Glitter Gulch Mine.

Isle O’ Hags Jinjo 3 – Plateau

  1. Wasteland Jinjo Hanging With a Minjo

In Wasteland, around the bend to the left are two apparent Jinjos. The one on the left is a Jinjo whereas the other one is a Minjo.

Isle O’ Hags Jinjo 4 – Wasteland

  1. Jinjo Near the Hailfire Peaks Building on Cliff Top

Located in Cliff Top, a Jinjo can be found in an alcove on the wall near the entrance to Jolly Roger’s Lagoon. Push the button down the stairs to bridge the gap to the entrance to Hailfire Peaks.

Around back, behind the Hailfire Peaks building is the pair of Claw Clamber Boots you will need to get the Jinjo. You can learn the Claw Clamber ability in Grunty Industries.

Isle O’ Hags Jinjo 5 – Cliff Top

Isle O’ Hags Honeycomb

You can grab one Honeycomb Piece in the Plateau area of Isle O’ Hags. It is located underneath Honey B’s Hive in the rear, right side corner.

Isle O’ Hags Moves
Fast Swim
Near Banjo’s house in Spiral Mountain is a boulder. Bill Drill this boulder and uncover a soon-to-be-dried out goldfish.

Bring the fish to the moat surrounding the Spiral Mountain and he’ll teach you to swim faster.

Fast Swim

Amaze-O-Gaze Glasses
You can get this pair of nifty zooming glasses from Bottle’s son inside their house. These glasses will always be on Banjo’s eyes so just switch to first-person mode and zoom in and out whenever you need to.

Amaze-O-Gaze Glasses

Fire Eggs

You can learn the Fire Eggs move from Jamjars in the Plateau area of the Isle O’ Hags. They will be essential for lighting your way in several of the underground mines in Glitter Gulch Mine.

Fire Eggs

Grenade Eggs
Jamjars will teach you all about these highly damaging eggs if you visit him in Pine Grove to the right of the entrance Witchyworld.

Not only necessary in Witchyworld, these eggs will surely become your go-to weapon throughout the rest of the game.

Grenade Eggs

Ice Eggs

Visit Jamjars’ Hatch in Cliff Top before going under in Jolly Roger’s Lagoon. With the ever-important Ice Eggs learned you will be able to freeze the legs of those enormous octopus that guard the various underwater tunnels and caves.

Ice Eggs

Clockwork Kazooie Eggs

You’ll stumble right into Jamjars’ Hatch in Wasteland if you’re not paying attention. That’s good too; because you’re going to need to know about the Clockwork Kazooie Eggs if you’re to ever collect all of the items in this game. These eggs hatch a mechanized version of your favorite Breegull, giving you 20 seconds to guide it wherever you want. Detonate it at your will. Great for collecting out of reach items!

Clockwork Kazooie Eggs

Homing Eggs
If you should bring a Blue Special Egg to Heggy’s Hen House in Wooded Hollow, she’ll hatch it for you. Inside of it is the Homing Eggs ability. This trick will add a sense of AI to your eggs, making them automatically curve towards the enemy should your aim be slightly off.

Homing Eggs

Breegull Bash
Bring Heggy the pink Special Egg (see below) for her to hatch to learn this hilarious move. Granted, it’s not a great attack, but watching Banjo slam Kazooie to the ground face first makes for good laughs.

The Three Hidden Game Paks
There are three bouncing Nintendo 64 cartridges hidden around the Isle of Hags — two in Spiral Mountain and one near the Jinjo Village. Here’s how to get them:

Spiral Mountain Game Pak 1
Gamepak1-2024102709080000-C46BE5741BFDE75BA1110C84E61676BA.jpg

In Spiral Mountain when you have the Grenade Eggs abilities mastered, fix your sights on the screen covering the cave above the tree stumps. Blast it apart with a Grenade Egg. Head up Spiral Mountain to launch yourself from the Flight Pad there and touch down inside the cave to find the Game Pak hopping around.

Humba Wumba’s Wigwam: Dragon Kazooie Form
Icekey-2024102823140800-C46BE5741BFDE75BA1110C84E61676BA.jpg

Curious as to why some screenshots of Banjo-Tooie you may have seen show a green Kazooie? Then look no further, because you’re about to learn how to make it happen.

Icekey-dragon1.png

There’s a couple steps involved to make this happen — and you have to unlock a few worlds first. You will need the Ice Key, the Mega Glowbo, and Kazooie’s Talon Torpedo Move for this transformation.

First you must obtain the fabled Ice Key from the Game Pak in Jinjo Village.

Nintendo 64/Switch Version: To get the Ice Key, go to the Jinjo Village area of the Isle O’Hags and head for the sandy area near the lower Jinjo Houses. Grip Grab the ledge that winds around the left side of the green rocks and enter the cave there. At the end of the cave will be the third of three Game Paks.

Xbox Live Arcade Version: In the Xbox version, players must have a Banjo-Kazooie or Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts save file on their hard drive. In Banjo-Kazooie, head to Freezeezy Peak and enter Wozza’s the walrus’s cave. The ice wall that was previously keeping you from getting the key is now gone, so backflip up to the ledge and grab the Ice Key. Switch to Banjo-Tooie and look for the Stop N Swop menu on the View Totals menu screen and check that you now have the Ice Key. You can also enter the cheat “NOW YOU CAN SEE A NICE ICE KEY WHICH YOU CAN HAVE FOR FREE” in the Xbox version of Banjo-Kazooie to remove the ice wall.

On Xbox, this, more complicated, way to unlock Dragon Kazooie is meant to emulate the originally planned “Stop N Swop” feature Rare had devised that would link two cartridge-based Nintendo 64 games together. Players would pull out the game cart while playing and plug in the other without switching off the N64. The feature was never implemented in the final N64 game since Nintendo’s manuals explicitly tell users never to remove a cartridge with the system powered on.
Icekey-2024102823075100-C46BE5741BFDE75BA1110C84E61676BA.jpg

Next, you must Talon Torpedo the boulder in the Waterfall Cavern side area of Glitter Gulch Mine. Behind this boulder is a secret entrance to Hailfire Peaks where a large “ice safe” is located. Use the Ice Key to open the safe and grab the mysterious Mega-Glowbo!

Icekey-2024102823084200-C46BE5741BFDE75BA1110C84E61676BA.jpg

AD
Finally, bring the Mega-Glowbo to Wumba in the Pine Grove area of Isle O’ Hags and leap into the magic pool.

Icekey-2024102823090900-C46BE5741BFDE75BA1110C84E61676BA.jpg

At first, it won’t look like anything has happened but wait until you see Kazooie turn around! She’s a dragon! Complete with flame throwing ability. Who needs Fire Eggs now?

Icekey-dragon2.png

If, for whatever reason, you decide to no longer keep her as a dragon (she can perform every move in either form), simply jump back into the pool here in Pine Grove and Kazooie will be back to her normal self.

Heggy’s Three Mysterious Eggs
There are three mysterious eggs that will appear in Heggy’s Hen House, which is accessible from the Isle O’ Hags / Jinjo Village main area by going down the slope.

Heggyseggs-2024103118510400-C46BE5741BFDE75BA1110C84E61676BA.jpg

Heggy, the giant chicken, offers to hatch the two eggs Banjo-Kazooie find on their own, while the first egg that appears in hen house needs to be hatched by Kazooie herself. To do this, you first have to learn the Hatch Move in Terrydactyland.

The Yellow Egg is found on the second floor of the hen house. As soon as Kazooie has learned Hatch, use the Split-Up Pad to separate our two heroes and have Kazooie hatch (crouch, C-Left) the egg. The reward: a Jinjo to play as in multiplayer.

The Pink Egg is found inside Game Pak #1 in the Spiral Mountain hub area. Ask Heggy to hatch the egg.

Heggyseggs-2024103118523600-C46BE5741BFDE75BA1110C84E61676BA.jpg

Hatching the Pink Egg unlocks a new attack move: the Breegull Bash. This secret attack is triggered when you hit B twice and has Banjo slamming enemies with the most powerful weapon yet: Kazooie.
